D-ID has unveiled two new avatar types—Express and Premium+—aimed at enhancing content creation capabilities on its AI video platform
As companies strive to develop AI avatars that closely resemble human interactions, there is a growing interest in utilizing these tools for various enterprise applications, including marketing, sales, and customer support. D-ID’s new avatars leverage advanced generative models, making it simpler to produce visually appealing business videos with minimal text and visual input. This launch aims to boost D-ID’s competitiveness in a rapidly evolving market.
The Express avatars can be trained with just about a minute of video, enabling them to mimic users’ head movements while speaking. The Premium+ avatars, which represent the company’s flagship model, require a few minutes of recorded video for training and are designed to create more lifelike interactions by including hand and torso movements. This added dimension enhances the realism of the avatar during user interactions.
D-ID has indicated that the Premium+ avatars can engage in real-time interactions, making them suitable for applications like webinars and translation services.
The company aims to use these avatars for various business applications, such as generating sales leads, boosting customer engagement, and creating personalized marketing initiatives.
Gil Perry, CEO of D-ID, shared with TechCrunch, “We believe that face-to-face interaction with AI models is the most effective, which is why we are developing these hyper-realistic avatars along with a natural user interface. We also envision business professionals creating digital representations of themselves, and we are committed to ensuring these avatars are secure to prevent misuse.”
D-ID reports that personalized video campaigns can lead to significant improvements in marketing metrics, including a 30% increase in click-through rates and a 35% rise in conversion rates.
In addition to launching the new avatars, D-ID is also rolling out an enterprise marketing suite that includes interactive avatars, AI influencers for brands, video campaign creation tools, translation services in 30 languages, and integrations with platforms like Canva and PowerPoint, as well as API integrations with CRM and marketing automation systems.
Previously, D-ID released an app that allows users to create videos from a single photo. While the new avatars are currently limited to the company’s desktop studio, there are plans to bring this technology to its mobile application in the future.
